All vehicles run on OBD2 communication technology. That is not going to change in the next 5 years for sure. It takes ALL auto manufacturers to get together and decide what's next. As to my knowledge there haven't even been any rumblings about changing it in the near future.

Clearly you are misinformed about our "outdated" technology.
