Something to ponder. What do you think, Paullee?

Big case Friday before Supreme Court:

High Court Case Could Open New World Of Patent Damages
By Ryan Davis
Law360, Washington (January 16, 2018, 10:38 PM EST) -- A case that the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to hear Friday could dramatically expand the amount of damages potentially available in patent cases, as the court weighs whether patent owners should be able to recover profits lost outside the U.S. due to infringement.

A timely case for Finjan and it could mean a difference of hundreds of millions of dollars in the value of their patent portfolio. More immediately, it would be worth tens of millions of dollars in the current Blue Coat cases.

This might be where the buying pressure came from. Obviously, the status quo of not granting damages for profits outside the U.S. is built-in and wouldn't hurt Finjan. If the Supreme Court rules in favor of allowing these extra damages, it would increase the enterprise value of Finjan by at least a buck a share. With 27M shares outstanding, it isn't too difficult to say the ruling would add $27M in profits a year for the foreseeable future.

Might make Symantec case later this year worth $100M+ more! If I were Symantec, I would be begging for an imminent settlement based on a fair value with the way things stand now. The Supreme Court ruling could double what they are liable for.

Now this is the kind of research that makes you money!

No, not up "late" or "early". You never know where in the world I am....
