nanocomposite insulations are foamed plastic. For example, Industrial
NanoTech supplies NANSULATE, a sprayed-on plastic coating that has
enhanced insulating properties. This nanocomposite product, which dries to a
rigid shell, is engineered to have higher R-values and lower thermal
conductivity than other types of insulation.

Residential Construction: Demand for foamed rigid urethane insulation
in residential construction applications is forecast to advance 1.2 percent per
year through 2008 to 175 million pounds. Use of this insulation in new
residential construction will be limited by a lackluster new housing
environment, which includes an expected decline in conventional housing
starts from the elevated levels of the 1998-2003 period. However, foamed rigid
urethane will continue to gain market share in residential applications,
somewhat offsetting the weak housing environment. Foamed rigid urethane
