Jan. 12--Rain. We needed it. Maybe a half inch before it quits and a cooling trend begins with lows in the teens by Wednesday.

I fed the cats this morning, got Snapper to saw some lumber, then I headed for the bus and the trolley to the hospital for a bone and CT scan. I returned to feed the cats then walked home. More cabbage seeds have germinated. They will go to the greenhouse tomorrow. I will have to place them in containers and cover them later this week.

Earlier this week I tilled some soil next to the slope, then raked it smooth as part of the preparation to grow garden peas and sugar snap peas. I will amend the row with manure, granular phosphate and wood ashes.

A Green Globe artichoke seed germinated. Very early. I hope it will be a viable seedling. The success for artichoke seedlings is quite low.

The Nasdaq's third tier, the AMEX can be just as bad, and last but not least, the OTC, it seems, are financial venues that reward failure.
