I dont think you're really listening or hearing me. Of course you're right that infringement happens all the time and they try to squash.... The fact that you think that's not an obvious fact to me betrays thay you are ignoring that my argument goes way above & beyond that common knowledge. When you speak of these things that "happen all the time", it is a very narrow view. You are not being conscious of the fact that those scenarios are normal, everyday, garden variety situations and you're correct, that they occur all the time. This, however is an animal of a different color...you have to see the bigger picture. Think of how you most likely agree that this vplm story is a once in a million, once in a lifetime situation and opportunity. You know that, right? This kind of thing just does not happen in pennystocks, right? Think of: dratic & fantastic scenarios, like vplm, beget drastic & fantastic outcomes. This is way different, in terms of the implications involving so many and so much, compared to anything else you've ever seen or thought about in the stock world, esp pennystocks. The scenarios you have in the back of your mind when you talk about "happens all the time" do not apply here. We are talking about hundreds of billions of dollars or even more, depending on the viewpoint. We are talking about the complete and total control of worldwide communications. Let me stop there, lest you think I'm going off the deep end in exaggeration to say that. The story we are fed, in no uncertain terms, is that all users of voip, in any way, shape or form (this can be found on the vplm site and from the so called conference calls as well as in PRs), anywhere (that the patents have jurisdiction), are using our patents and are infringing. I'm not making that up. That is basically what vplm has alleged. (although an in depth study will show that they have softened that wording of that stance somewhat, ie, now they sometimes say "could be", lol). That means ostensibly, total control of the voip industry. And vplm had also been asked and replied, unequivocally, that THERE IS NO WAY AROUND the above facts. No way around it. That, is no different than the phrase "RESISTANCE IS FUTILE, WE HAVE ASSUMED CONTROL, WE HAVE ASSUMED CONTROL, WE HAVE ASSUMED CONTROL!"
Now, if you disagree with any of that, at this point, I urge you to stop right now and tell me how any of that is not the case. I do not wish to spin anything or change anything or take any sort of undue license in order to paint some untrue picture. It is my belief and contention that everything I said so far above is correct and true. So if you agree, then heck, how can you even begin to compare such a scenario to anything else that has ever been going on in the pennystock world? I say you can't. If you actually do assume total control of the voip arena, then of course you now will also be in a position to collect every bit of infringement fines (many tripled) and settlements (big ones) and licensing (won't be cheap) from as many if the many voip service providers that you can deal with. And they will be like sitting ducks because they will at that point, have zero defense. And this will ensue, unstoppable, until the patents expire. How much money, all told, do you think that is? I would like to hear anybodys guesstmate on that. I venture that it's in the hundred of billions or more. The downside would be that once you were now in that position, you would probably have also become a monopoly and then the whole ma bell scenario kicks in. Tsk, tsk... Anyway, the entire voip service world would be beholden to you, period. So now, the only players in a scenario such as this, are going to be the biggest dog's, like Apple & Google & Microsoft & Cisco, etc. None of them, in my opinion, can afford to be subject to whoever should step up and buy vplm. As I noted already, can you imagine being Google & having an 85 percent share of the cellular market (Android) and all of a sudden, a company with more money than god (which means it can occur at any second), Apple, snatches up vplm and now they will own you in short order, as far as the cellular thing goes. Or Skype...all of a sudden Microsoft would have an arm & a leg cut off...
I think these arguments are compelling and therefore it makes no sense to me that these big dogs would just sit back and let it happen to them. But that's exactly what they are doing........IF......IF...... IF...... B.I.G..IF.....the patents are indeed capable of all that. I don't see how any of above can be discounted, but I will listen to anything.
