Most investing is done on perception,imo. Especially with stocks that are in transition. WPRT is moving from a R&D company to a production company. They've obtained many patents along the way and are now applying those to many different companies.

What makes you second guess Westport's ability? To me, they've hit bottom and by all indications are working on a productive future. All seven analyst that follow this company see an improving profit picture.
