If they do have positive earnings with renewed efforts to become more profitable, they may consider buying back a block of shares and retiring them. Reverse splits are more common with stocks in the sub pennies. I have owned multiple stocks that did RS and it just killed it every time, but those stocks were all .0002 - .001. Hopefully this company knows better.
