Previously you have mentioned that vending machines get stolen (not the AGM specifically) in your field of work. What sort of security features are in place on the American Green Machine to prevent or alarm theft? Considering the machine may one day contain very valuable product and positioned in a public setting, I'd be interested to hear what sort of anti-theft mechanisms are in place if you can provide that information.
" I am not sure what post I mentioned that vending machines get stolen but you are correct they can, The machines are in places that have security already in place. I do not see the machines sitting along the roadside or in unsecured areas. We have devices that we can add to the machines as well as cameras around the machines if need and it is a large steel box sorta like a safe so it is very rad to smash and grab unlike other storage areas in stores that the products are not kept in such a strong box"
Reading over your answers, it seems like the American Green Machine's main purpose is to limit wait times in dispensaries, and to prevent the use of fake IDs in purchasing products. From the perspective of a dispensary owner, would you say the additional cost of having the vending machine in your dispensary (and in turn taking up space) is worth it for those reasons alone?
"These features of speeding up lines and making it more secure of a transaction it is most defiantly worth the extra expense but is as with anything a business expense that a responsible dispensary owner is willing to make to be sure that they have taken another steep to make a responsible sale."
My understanding is that the primary purpose of a vending machine is to remove the need for an employee, and to offer a good in a place where that good is not available. Rest stops, stadiums, school hallways, for example, selling drinks and snacks. However, your business plan is focused more on the machine being used inside the dispensary to reduce wait times. Fake IDs will be used either way to purchase products inside the dispensary, that is an inevitable whether the machine is there or not. An employee will still be present within the dispensary, so the vending machine is not necessarily saving on employee costs, and it is offering a product that is also available within the vicinity of the machine. So the potential of the machine seems to rest on saving wait time for the customer. Based on your research, do you know how much of a problem this is for dispensaries, and if the vending machine is in demand for solving that problem?
" The primary purpose of the system is not to remove employees all together as that is not a good idea and we will still need an employee to sign up and answer questions. Some people like human interface and others just want to purchase without talking to anyone. As far as Fake IDs and that never being done away with, it is defiantly a good start with the system American green has put together. It is saving cost as it can reduce employee cost as you cant do away with all employees but you can reduce how many by using the system. When i visited Ca. and looked around at different dispensaries I did see lines that I know we could help speed up.
Now as far as stadiums I see the machine being a great addition to speed up beer sales as I hate standing in line to get a cold one when 20 people in line also want nachos and popcorn and all i want is my cold can of beer and back to my seat....
