There are tons of diffrent "sales contracts" that walmart does with distributers. I am not saying that walmart buys these before they are made. You actually have to make the movie first and there is no guarntee that walmart will pick up your movie but there is a good chance they will. I also do not know if those # are divided amoung walmart and sams. with more than 3000 walmarts that is 3334 copies per store. If the are in sams as well than you are looking at about 2000 per store. Which is nothing for them to move as 2000 units is well less than .05 percent of the average population of each store. What is also good is that if the movie moves they usually put the movies on a rotation purchace. Depending on the movie they purchase another 1-5 mill copies every 3 to 5 years. As i said i do not know if walmart has return policies (to the distributor) of copies they do not sale but i suspect they do and i also suspect that it is rare for them to have to return movies.
