Jan. 9--Today consisted of tasks, all geared toward the spring planting and transplating.

Nail up more tomato boxes. Take more lumber to Snapper. Find more nails. Since it rained last night the soil was wet enough to make pulling dead plants for the compost pile an easy task. I organized the greenhouse, filled more cells with potting soil, sifted soil from the bag I bought last week from Wal Mart, wet down four trays for lettuce seed I want to plant tomorrow morning. Even with the door open the sunny conditions warms the interior. I stuck a soil thermometer in one cell. It read close to 70 midway through the afternoon. Rico the black kitten thinks its fun to walk around and paw at me while I'm wetting down some soil. Eventually he will be banned. But not before it truly warms up. CC the Calico Cat takes afternoon naps in the chair.

This morning I started Early Jersey Wakefield cabbage seed in a makeshift grow dome, plus some Creole white onion seed in a food container I filled with 1 inch of wet soil. This will continue for a few more weeks.

72 days until the spring equinox. It goes by quickly.

The Nasdaq's third tier, the AMEX can be just as bad, and last but not least, the OTC, it seems, are financial venues that reward failure.
