gfp, I've read a lot of articles, but still don't understand cryptocurrencies. I'm thinking of buying some KODK because of this -

What good is it to photographers if they are given KodakCoins for the licensing of their work? They can't go to the supermarket and buy groceries or pay their rent with it, right? So what good is it to own KodakCoins or bitcoins, for example. How do cryptocurrencies interface with U.S. currency? Why would Kodak shares jump just because of this announcement? Thanks.
