Performance of Pennyland versus S&P 500 in 2017.
While there's no OTCBB or Pink Sheet stock average, the NASDAQ Capital Markets (Nasdaq-CM), NASDAQ's lowest tier, can be seen as a somewhat higher quality surrogate for Pennyland.
NASDAQ-CM can be tracked with the obscure ^RCMP Composite Average which rose about 19% in 2017. The S&P500TR average (The S&P including dividends) rose about 22% last year.
The broad NASDAQ did have a strong year in 2017 (up 28%), but not its lowest tier.
Who needs low quality stocks? Not me. They're sluggish performers in good years and they're dreadful in market meltdowns.
