Dry Bulk FFA: Bullishness Continues for Capesizes
in Dry Bulk Market,International Shipping News 05/01/2018

Capesize FFA Commentary:
Another very bullish day for the big ships as the physical market quickly made up all of last weeks losses and the paper continued to go north. The entire curve was well supported and was marked sharply higher as good volume changed hands. With further gains expected in the physical market one would not be surprised to see the paper move higher.

Panamax FFA Commentary:
We witnessed further gains yesterday on Panamax paper with buyers chasing it up from the get go as the physical gains momentum and coupled with further short covering as well as the bullish Cape market pushing prices higher. This saw a spike in early trading which saw Q1 and Q2 pushing up to $12500 and $12900 highs respectively while further out Cal18 printed $12400. Despite drifting off the highs in the afternoon session the overall tone remains optimistic.

Supramax FFA Commentary:
Supramax paper opened on a stronger note once again this morning. The prompt felt the early bid support as Jan was paid up to $10450. This filtered into the rest of the curve with Q1 trading 10350, Q3 10550 and Q4 $11,000. The Calendar’s also saw improvement with Cal 18 reaching a new high $10700.

Handysize FFA Commentary:
Quiet day on the handysize paper with little to report.
