No, they do not. They are dealer brokers and connect buyers and sellers - in other words, it is shareholders that have set the buy and sell prices. Just like I do when I set a limit on a buy or sell. With 100M shares, you can nudge the price when you need to.
It is ILLEGAL for MM's to buy and sell for the company or themselves. Not only that, but they are fully automated with millions of transactions per day. MM's don't set there and eyeball sub penny stocks to try to eke out a case of beer. Good grief, some imagination!!
