it appears demand for stock has increased significantly during the past two weeks or so..evidenced by trading above the average with a price that remains higher or within a given range..if this continues then the s/p will take care of itself as it becomes more expensive to keep the price down..covering should reduce the number of shares available for trading..but that has not happened yet..new investor demand combined with short covering will provide an upward pressure on the s/p. good news will exacerbate the current volume trend.
