MJ Manias often result in lots of volatility and wild rides

MMs often will short a stock down, sometimes at the open, other times during the middle of the day, in order to induce selling in order to allow them to accumulate shares on the cheap before taking the stock higher, usually immediately afterwards or later on during the same day

On the other hand, gapups during premarket trading are pretty common

Many gaps in the chart, unlike during "normal" trading, do not get filled

Stocks can move suddenly up or down over the short term, but in a bona fide mania, many maintain an upward trend throughout the majority of the mania
