Feels like end of year tax loss/gain selling going on everywhere with BTC and cryptos, not sure though. Overall 2018 brings fresh money and new ETF's into play for BTC. And you pretty much need to buy BTC before buying the 1000+ altcoins out there. So, unless the whole altcoin "fad" dies out and the grand experience ends, then BTC is here to stay forever. INTV makes money even at these reduced prices, so no worries over the long run (years to come)...
