Explanation of the apparent paradox: The 38% (19/50) figure refers to patients who survived at least one year after starting AXAL treatment—irrespective of when a given patient enrolled in the GOG-0265 trial.

The PR disclosure of “8 patients still alive” as of 1/31/17 means that (as of 1/31/17) 11 of the 19 patients who were alive at the patient’s 1-year cut-off point subsequently died after the patient’s 1-year cut-off point (which is a different date for each patient, depending on when a given patient enrolled).
