Who is our competition?
Because we are in Chile some people will say Albemarle and SQM are (or should be) the competition for us by auto-select, but that assessment takes a rather myopic perspective and too-simplified Samson & Goliath knee-jerk approach to the upcoming very high-speed race we are about to jump into worldwide since these 2 Goliath slow-turning mega-ship operations will take 4-5 years to reach the local efficiency (which some day soon needs to be more heavily dependent on membrane technology) that we will start out fresh with from the git go on day one. Our true blood completion in Chile would be more like a WML (Wealth Minerals Ltd) lithium junior which is probably now only 1 year behind (esp since Pinera's win) in our rear view mirror. But our real "more thrilling" apples-to-apples completion in this lithium beauty pageant is International Lithium Corp (ILC) just across the border in Mariana Argentina. We two are in this race and running nearly neck and neck with one big difference, ILC already has their Chinese partner/money-man Ganfeng installed... we don't.

If you think of Maricunga NewCo JV as a a track-running athlete running in the 1000m race then when we are looking over our shoulder to gauge OUR progress we need to be focusing on CEO Kirill Klip from ILC in Argentina. ILC is setting the pace for Lithium juniors leading the paradigm shift into high-speed-on-demand low-inventory lithium production for a ravenous world almost ready to completely devour whatever lithium can be produced in 2018 and most definitely all of it in 2019. Pioneer Kirill Klip is writing the playbook for all lithium juniors anew each month, and we would be wise to never lose sight of him in our rear view mirror because this guy is going to be super famous and super powerful in the lithium world next year.

Kirill Klip is the Energizer Bunny on pure adrenaline. I only wish our fat cat Canadian Jeremy had even 25% the energy, enthusiasm, great blogging ability, and smarts this Russian guy Kirill Klip has in just his pinky finger... if he did, we would be many many miles ahead in this big race here in Chile.
