OPKO Health Reports 4.7% Stake in Eloxx Pharmaceuticals

I'm not really sure what the vision is for OPKO

How about a possible cure for some of the most horrendous inherited diseases known, diseases such as muscular dystrophy and cystic fibrosis, diseases known as nonsense diseases because the transmission of dna is incomplete [from antisense lingo]?

The current controversy over a very expensive symptomatic treatment for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, just one variation of the disease, is not a fundamental cure and may not be even be a reasonable treatment, as I understand it, should provide some clue as to the astronomical numbers possible for a fundamental cure for all 70 varieties.

A cousin of mine in Ireland had cystic fibrosis. I have learned a bit about the pain of this terrible disease from those who met him and his family in Ireland. I believe it occurs more frequently in Ireland than anywhere else.

There are many other nonsense diseases, all rare but all catostrophic.

What are the odds Eloxx has a cure to any of these diseases?

- No one knows, including Eloxx.
