Of course, there is a chance that this is a hoax of sorts.

But really, why else would Egan keep the company up to date with filings if not for some merger?

This merger is the end game for Egan and his investment in The Globe.

Here's a quote from Michael Egan: "Well, you know, I just sold Alamo Rent-a-car, I'm really looking for my last great hurrah, and I think I'd like to get into the media business."

It's not what he originally planned when Michael invested $20 Million, but it's what has happened.

I also doubt that Egan (who sold Alamo Rent-a-Car for over $600 Million) would perpetuate a scam to net maybe a few million dollars.

We are not talking about a financial and morally bankrupt man who needs to run a scam to make rent payments.
