The time has come to take a fresh look at where we are regarding anatabine/isomyosmine, (henceforth anata/iso), and where Jonnie Williams Sr., (henceforth JWSr), is likely to take us.
Best to look first at what we KNOW, since there is so much we don't. We KNOW that anatabine, as ANATABLOC, is being wholesaled by a French speaking Algerian company, Hydrapharm Group. We KNOW also that it is being retailed by an English sports nutrition company, Predator Nutrition Ltd. My assumption for the purposes of this effort is that JWSr was instrumental in making that happen. If that is a correct assumption then JWSr has not given up on anatabine.
We also KNOW that JWSr and associates have formed a new company, MYMD Pharmaceuticals, whose main emphasis is to develop isomyosmine as a treatment for a number of disorders and diseases. Why isomyosmine instead of anatabine? This gets quite complicated! JWSr is responding to the work of a five man team of researchers, all of whom have a connection with Johns Hopkins, and for whom the Corresponding author is none other than Patrizio Caturegli, the same Patrizio Caturegli who was an advisor to Star/Rock Creek on the Hashimoto's Thyroiditis Study. This team has focused on Reactive oxygen species (ROS), also known as free radicals, which led to a need for a suitable MAO-A and MAO-B inhibitor.
JWSr's World Patent Application WO2016161055 A2 details a study demonstraiting the ability of isomyosmine, myosmine, anatabine, anabasine, and nornicotine to inhibit the enzymatic activity of MAO-A, and a second study in which the same alkaloids were tested for their ability to inhibit the activity of MAO-B. The results showed that isomyosmine was the most potent of the five alkaloids in inhibiting the enzymatic activity of MAO-A, and similarly isomyosmine was the most potent at inhibiting the activity of MOA-B.
