I was told by a broker long ago that there are only a couple of reasons for squaring the books. Either the company requested it because of suspected collusion by the MM's or the SEC requested an audit because of possible up listing to another exchange.

Either way it seems strange that a company that has nothing going for it, according to some, would be having the books cleaned.

According to my broker, most of the trades in the last week were short coverings. Hmmmmm
