Slow clap. I love it.

The data analytics have already begun, with "smart factories" being built or upgraded from old equipment.

They are able to examine every aspect of a piece of equipment (let's just say a motor that moves parts down an assembly line to keep it simple), to ensure it is running efficiently. This includes everything from temperature, oil levels, down time, speed, operator control techniques and reoccurring behaviors, to find the exact recipe to keep that equipment running as quickly as possible without causing any problems.

Now take that to the AM world.

The AM machines need the same data analytics to ensure a proper build. Through DECADES of experience, knowledge, testing and evaluation, the parameters of the build, including but not limited to melt pool temperature, size, speed, duration of laser to melt each weld, geometric measurements, temperature of the build, orientation and so on and so forth.... All things that PR3D and Contour can detect in real time.

As we've seen in multiple studies and presentations by leaders in the industry, the need for a network of qualified AM part producers is necessary for companies to create a network of suppliers globally for these large corporations.

How do they find certified suppliers?

By ensuring they are using a technology that follows a digital twin file parameters and saves coupons proving the design was followed.

Sigma does exactly this.

End users looking to provide parts for the large corporations will be looking to certify every part of their process. Sigma Labs has created data sets on powders, parts, and processes of AM production on multiple machines, using multiple AM methods (SLS, DMLS, EBM) to show they can provide this data to ensure the build meets the requirements of the CAD file and specifications.

Tier 1 suppliers, like our customer Woodward, will need to prove to their customers who expect perfection, that their parts are printed correctly.

Government entities need to safely transfer data IP onto naval ships to print a replacement part for a fighter jet so it can be back to fully functional in a short amount of time.

Sigma Labs.

OEMs need to sell printers that are able to print quality parts for their customers who print high end parts.

We have all the answers for analytics of AM production as well as real time inspection for production.
