Me experience at Circuit City:
In my opinion I do not know how someone will know about this great product. There is just no advertising or promoting for GZFX in CC. Look at what happens last night, I inquire the sales rep about the price of XBOX 360 he did a good job in explaining the 2 different packages Core and Platinum system (something like that), then I asked how much are the games? He gives me a ballpark figure, and I say "thats expensive" then I say "Do you rent games?" he says no we do not rent games. Keep in mind I have not located the GZFX jewel cases yet. I thank him for his help and look around for the jewel cases and finally locate them by the DVD section, very hard to find. So I grab the jewel case and go back to the same "Product Specialist" and say "Hey whats this all about you can rent games?" In so many words he was like "Yea but... yea but this... and you need to... and what if the game is brand new and they do not have it... and you have to wait for the game... blah blah blah"
My point is that the rep from CC seemed a little negative about it and was not really enthused to offer me the product. But not to the point where he totally disliked it, he was speaking about it very casually a little less than neutral about it. Almost like he was going through the motions. He did say one of his co-workers had it etc etc. But my feeling out of the whole experience is that if he knew about it why did not he offer it to me when I asked about "Renting games earlier on?" Remember when I was speaking about the XBOX 360.
I left CC a little unhappy that GZFX is not being promoted even when asked if they offer a service to rent games. Now he does not speak for the other reps there but I will go back and ask someone else. I really wish we knew what the deal was with GZFX and CC. Maybe its just shelf space for us and thats it, no promoting or offering of the product to customers.
Has anyone had an a good or bad experience? Have any of the CC reps offered it to you or someone you know?
And also the time it took me to find the jewel cases was long and I had to look it does not come out right in your face. No where on the jewel case does it say in big bold letters "RENT GAMES AND MOVIES" it says something like "2 for 1 something like that" The colors are not the bright or eye catching it needs to be redone. I really don't know how customers are going to see this let alone when they do see it your eyes kind of just breeze by it there is nothing that would want to make you pick it up. I hope GZFX has plans with CC to promote this because I really think if they push this on customers that buy games and DVDS and PS, Xbox, WII etc GZFX subs will grow.
I could not remember verbatim word for word, again this is all in my experience last night and my opinion.
I just wanted to share my experience with the board this morning.
