First, you have to have a lot of money (more than I have)!

Warrants are typically issued as part of a private offering as an additional inducement to the investor. For example, CYDY says "if you buy 2 shares of stock at $0.50 then we will give you one additional warrant (i.e., option) to buy another share of stock at any time between now and 5 years from now at a price of $0.75."

But to get warrants (unless they are publicly traded, which CYDY's are not), you have to participate in the private offering.

Depending upon the securities law exemption relied upon in the private offering, typically issuers (e.g., CYDY) can't sell to anyone unless the buyer is an accredited investor.

An accredited investor, is anyone with $300K in income (married filing jointly) or $200K in income (single filer) for the past 2 years OR who has a net worth (excluding primary residence) of at least $1M.

Once you are an accredited investor, then doors open to that world.
