There have been some cracks in the SEC over the last 5 years!
I think that they fear that if the truth were knowen, the house of cards would come down again only this time from 11k to 200k instead of 200k to 4k of 29.

There focus is to instil confidence in the market, and not reveal its flaws! Even if they have to lie to do it!
