Tuesday: The overnight weather data wasn’t as aggressive with colder air fanning across the eastern half of the country in some models. The GFS maintained colder air arriving over the East Dec 23-25th, such as the left panels depict. However, the European model held a warm ridge over the East longer and stronger, keeping colder air over the western and central US. Rather large differences, with the European model being the less intimidating scenario, which could disappoint the markets since its notably milder than the pattern it showed a coupled days ago.
