so BT can create 700 kilos of their silk in 48 hrs..sounds good to me..sounds real good in fact..

Nope. thats the incubation time I was referring to. In actuality, it's probably less. Yeast make waste (most famous is ethenol). The longer it incubates, the more toxic it makes it's own environment, and the less protein the yeast will produce. I used a long incubation time, giving them a higher total yield considering their productivity per hour numbers in the patent application. Like I said, I was being generous. But in short, no, it's not 48 hours per 700 kilos. they still need pre and post processing of the broth.

I don't know how green it is or isn't and how it compares to the process used to create polyester...but then I don't care..great if its green..no big deal if it isnt..

I'm almost certain you don't care whether it's sustainable or not. But Bolt Threads sure does. Apparently you haven't been paying attention to the partners they are going after. It's the only way they will be able to justify their high prices for an inferior product.

I'm not sure why its not supposed to be sustainable..will the vats wear out?..gonna run short of water?..

Yes. Water is a valuable resource. You are getting much better at answering your own questions. You get a gold star for that one.

BT says they can create their silk at roughly the same costs as other fibers...kim seems to think it costs $37 mil a ton...lol

I'm sure Kims estimates are way off. If I had to guess, they may have contacted a company that sells a protein manufacturing service and extrapolated it from there. Not likely accurate, but probably the best he could do with no other information.

as for economical..i cant tell..i don't see anything about the costs associated with all these liters of this and that..

Every step in production has added costs. when you look at how many extra steps Bolt threads has compared to other fibers, it's not that hard to see.

I don't believe either...but I think its fair to say kims estimate is just ridiculous and he is making himself and kblb look absolutely foolish..hes not fooling anyone and hes also not being honest..

I agree. That competitive analysis was not a good move.
