In this instance it just smacks of desperate finger pointing. SHLD's problems are internal. I was surprised any fund would not be more sophisticated than the typical ihubber.

Sometimes it does actually happen though-short manipulation. This guy made a good American Greed subject.

In September, Minkow returned to federal prison, where he is beginning a five-year term and facing a new restitution order for $583 million — the amount Lennar stockholders lost due to manipulation.
