I found the news release confusing. However my opinion is that the reason accelerated approval was discussed but not yet granted, could be that a larger number of patients needs to be enrolled. In other words, the results are trending in the right direction for accelerated approval and approval could be granted based on the phase 2 results alone. This would be very good news indeed! And interested big Pharmas will be seeing these results and know the details of the FDA quidance...and in fact a partnership could be announced BEFORE the phase 2 results are announced. I have seen that happen!
