Rodman, Actually I am very much in the loop. Our company is participating in the RFP to provide Anaerobic Digestion to several of the Hawaii islands. NO WHERE in the RFP does it mention VSPC or GKG? You need to do some D/D. Take a look at the RFP and do your research. Our proposal does not include them either as we researched the feedstock availability and based on the costs to grow GKG we will use already available feedstocks. The cost of land, water, harvesting, and yield eliminated GKG from our consideration very early. The electrical revenue made it near impossible to develop the infrastructure to support a new crop on Hawaii. Converting current crop land to a product that only has yield potential as an energy crop does NOT pencil. We will utilize current crops that have a primary yield and then we we use the residues for AD. I suggest you do a proforma and you will quickly see that based on the Island PPA and the cost of an energy only feed stock, it does not make financial sense. Same reason TIbbar failed. The numbers do not add up. Seeing a small plot of GKG growing offers no excitement? Yes it grows and no I personally DO NOT LIKE TO WATCH IT GROW! Only interested in what to do with it after it has grown and I have found no commercial use for it. Much like VSPC, they have watched it grow, and have spent 54 MILLION DOLLARS watching it grow, but VSPC has never figured out what to do with either!
