Checkout POWR, they allow peer to peer payment of excess electricity so if you own solar panels that produce more electricity than you can use you can sell to your neighbor directly without going thru the power company as a middle man. It's big in Australia and India but growing globally. Run by Dr. Jemma Green: ex-JP Morgan and super smart. At .52 now and headed towards $10 by end of 2018.
Ripple is interesting. It's for bank to bank transaction settlement in 1-3 seconds instead of 3-5 days with USD. 30% of global banks have put it into production.
My buddy likes NEO. It's the Chinese govt crypto currency. Don't know much about it tho.
