it was 85. got a long ride from Maastricht to Leeuwarden, still in makeup and costume, and spent the time in a bar trying to get over the hangover. to say i was in a fog is a gross understatement. i needed more than a year to recover from my time there.
btw, i tried to do a little skating while i was over there, and my friends told me the people watching loved me. as i would fall and rise, only to fall again, they would point me out to their children and say how harmless it was. "See the crazy American. He got up again."
btw.. wasn't there also one in 87? thought there was a three year stretch after decades without. and i think the last one was in 97?
