I'm sure Kaplan pursued CURA myCadian to do more

than just keep the doors open til the pump was ready. I'm sure he regards CURA myCadian as both a viable and enviable market on its own.

And who wouldn't care if the CEO of their company was credible or not? Don't understand how you could say you don't care.

The performance articulated by Kaplan in both the October and December CEO updates, if accurate, seems pretty compelling to me. And past performance is not a sure indicator of future results, as the adage goes. And that goes for either direction. Evaluate what Kaplan says about myCadian and the pump/motor on their own merits.
