FIFO - First in first out stock selling for Individuals ONLY is in the tax bill... Of course the Mutual Fund Industry pounded the republicans so they removed them. BUT WE ! Have to sell our shares as first in first out... That really sucks because the share you bought really cheap and have a huge gain must be sold first... And that is BASIC Income and will be taxed personally...

Example. You buy 100 shares at $10
Then you buy 100 shares at $100

Stock goes to $125.00 and you want to take some money off of the table. You must sell the 100 shares you bought at $10.00 thus paying tax on $115.00 gain per share vs selling the ones you bought at $100.00 and paying tax on $25.00 a share gain.
