I like to read comments on SA articles to get a sense of what people think. Both in favor and contrary to my opinions about fossil fuel and energy in general.

This morning I saw an article about renewable energy and the EPA which I will link below. Interesting stuff as it discusses RINs and Mr. Icahn"s assertion that it unfairly punishes small and independent refining companies. The article indicates there won't be deregulation soon. The article is titled:
Scott Pruitt's EPA Backs Down (article linked below)

In an unexpected and unheralded move, however, the EPA released a report shortly before Thanksgiving that soundly rejected the widespread claim by merchant refiners that high RIN prices negatively affect their earnings (Mr. Icahn went so far as to claim in a WSJ op-ed last year that the mandate was "ruining" refiners and could "crash" the economy).

On to the comment...

The EPA has no need to take a high profile stance at this time. The real killer of the mandate is the decline in consumption of fossil fuels which is just around the corner.

Really? That would be nice and signal decline in the MLP sector, but...
IMO, the corner he speaks about is not going to be turned in the near future, however it is coming more likely in my children's and grandchildren's future.

I won't be putting the robot driven electric cart before the "eco boost" driven horse I ride, lol.

I am still watching CVRR but I will stick with the companies like DK that do have retail connections to mitigate the RIN's regulations.
