I don't think Bitcoin will ever replace gold as the ultimate safe haven. While Bitcoin has become more accepted it's still owned fractionally smaller than gold or silver.

IMO most of the investors piling into these cryptos are speculators, not people looking for protection in a severe downturn. They may think they're protected, but are they really going to be able to use their Bitcoin as universally as PM's? I think that's yet to be determined.

We'll only know that when the SHTF moment comes.
