Novateqni and naspers subsidiary novus team to provide voter registaton solution for united nations contract in liberia

December 14, 2016 – Calgary, Alberta – NovaTeqni Corporation (“NovaTeqni” or the "Corporation") (TSXV: NTQ) is pleased to report that NovaTeqni and Novus Holdings, a subsidiary of Naspers Limited, have teamed to win a contract to develop and supply a voter registration solution for the United Nations to be used to generate the voters roll for the Liberia 2017 elections. The total contract value is approximately US$2.9 million.


The solution uses Novateqni’s newly developed touch based ID800 smart camera. This touch based smart camera has special illumination for capturing high quality identification photographs. The smart capability allows the camera to process images and to validate photo quality suitability for acceptable mandated photo identification requirements. The ID800 smart camera also contains integrated optical character recognition such as passport MZR scanning and decoding and has an ability to perform various biometrics functions when fitted with the optional sensors. The ID800 smart camera can also embed digital data into images and is therefore suitable for a number of other specialized photography and imaging applications.


Along with the ID800 smart camera, NovaTeqni is supplying it’s advanced SP100 Solar Power Pack. The SP100 contains a number of integrated DC power outputs to power everything from mobile devices to personal computers and printers. The proven and reliable power supply has been used in various countries for large projects and is also being used by the United Nations in Afghanistan.

First deliveries will take place in December 2016 with the project scheduled for completion early in 2017.

The lead and financial partner on this project is Novus Holdings which is a subsidiary of Naspers Limited (“Naspers”).
