Manson funeral fundraiser earns $1K — then gets shut down

Some bozo set up a fundraising page for Charles Manson’s funeral — and managed to amass almost $1,000 in donations before it was shut down.

A user named John Jones said he set up the GoFundMe page to fund the funeral costs of his “dear friend & loved one” — to ensure the cult leader behind one of the most notorious killings in American history is “laid to rest with the honor, respect & dignity he deserves,” according to screenshots posted on TMZ.

Jones included a sob story about Manson’s grandson Jason Freeman recently losing his job.

“We will not sit back & let them throw Mr. Manson away like trash,” he continued. “His whole life he lived with the pain of feeling unclaimed. We must not let this happen in death. Together we can help Jason bring his grandfather home & prove to the world Charles WAS LOVED & WILL BE CLAIMED!”

The page had raised $949 of its stated $15,000 goal before it was nixed.

Manson died in prison Monday.

Freeman, 41, has since said he wants to have his grandfather cremated in California and then bring the ashes back home to his home in Florida.

“Until I can make a rational decision about what to do next, I’d just like to have my grandfather’s remains sitting there with me,” Freeman recently told SF Gate. “I’ll be in California as soon as I can.”
