Quality companies do it all the time. Put out a PR on revenue estimates, ahead of the Q being dropped. Meanwhile, we sit...waiting...drifting...in anticipation.
Dropping Q's before 0800 also is a good way to allow the market time to digest the report, again stirring buzz vs. sitting in the lobby waiting, fearing the results of the previous doctor's visit.
