Before everyone gets all excited about a 1 day gain yesterday (followed by the typical , continued decline), all you have to do is check out history and the comments from this CEO in his last 4 disastrous jobs. The same grandiose statements of domination and transparency and huge opportunity and it’s all about execution and I’m a shareholder too and we’re only just beginning “ etc etc.
Guess what ? That is followed by disappointing results (3 quarters in a row missed expectations ), and then , a diversionary acquisition or pomp and circumstance and a “hey, don’t worry about the #’s , look at this picture of me with a washed up semi-celebrity” etc.
Then , he gets a few of the “die hard supporters” to pump it for him (happening now ) and then, shareholder angst , and then Board pressure , and then “Buh Bye”. Average = 18 months and so this might go longer.
