Something is brewing indeed , , , for those who are unfamiliar with blockchain technology, its an electronic ledger, which has several uses. Most popular use right now is Fintech Industry (financial technology - bitcoin and other crypto-currencies use blockchain). Voting using blockchain based technology is slowly gaining attention, as our government officials are younger in age and more 'techno friendly.' NYC Council will be voting on a measure that will allow for electronic voting registration - aimed at first time voters (usually young 18 yr olds). Hearing that the plan down-the-line would be to eventually pass a measure allowing electronic voting using an app. For now, the first step is to pass a bill allowing for voter registration and examining its results. Should it pass & succeed, expect other neighboring cities to follow suit over the next months/yrs. If not, give blockchain another year or two, as advancements are made.

Blockchain is in its infancy and is the future. I remember back in the early 1990's, the consensus was that the internet was a fad. And we all know how THAT turned out.
