UNIVERCELL TO PROVIDE CELL PHONE SERVICE TO AVIS CUSTOMERS TRAVELING OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES
Pikesville, MD - UniverCell Global Phone Rentals, Inc. (OTCBB: UVCL), a leading provider of international wireless solutions to business, leisure and student travelers from the United States, and Avis Rent A Car System, Inc., a subsidiary of Cendant Corporation (NYSE:CD), have announced a preferred alliance agreement that enables Avis' car rental customers to easily rent a cell phone for their trip overseas.
Under this preferred alliance agreement, Avis will promote UniverCell services when customers make a reservation for a rental car outside the United States. UniverCell provides its services for 30-50% less than its competition and up to 70% less than hotel phones. Once a reservation is made, the phone will be shipped to the Avis customer in the United States before they travel overseas.
