I believe Cliffs missed the boat on DRI in Nashwauk and missed out on the next generation of mining in Minnesota. A coal mining tycoon from the Eastern United States by the name of Clarke scooped up the Old Butler plant and DRI plant in Nashwauk. The word on the Iron Range is that Cliffs is going to be History. US Steel in Keewatin is right next to Nashwauk and will feed the DRI plant along with Chippewa also feeding the plant. I know Cliffs has other ventures around the world, but the DRI plant that L.G. Is building out in Michigan is going to have more costs then Nashwauk would have. L.G. is working hard to build that DRI plant before Clarke is ready, but L.G’s CLF still has some balance sheet issues. L.G might be able to hold mining ventures with Mesabi Trust (MSB) . Watch MSB, but the word is sell CLF. I am still holding CLF for some insane reason.
