Worthy of clarification is there are literally hundreds of pharma/alcohol/tobacco executives/employee's who are currently invested in cannabis operations nationwide/worldwide. I've personally met dozens and the surprise quickly wore off. The same is true for many seeking/entering employment within industry as well (usually senior management), with many having direct backgrounds within the very same group(s).

Also worthy of note is while most address it as the federal issue, it has been equally a public opinion issue.

The Constellation move was much more than it appears on the surface. There is a deeper agenda within many events than people think, including the Vegas launch and adoption of cannabis into the (mainstream) "Vegas experience", all having to do with the more significant factor of a shift in public opinion being more favorable today than ever before in history.

I myself have seen over maybe the last 3-4 years a shift from investors "not wanting anyone to know" their interests vs. now not caring at all, but it being something they discuss freely with many peers (as opposed to previously, going to great lengths to hide their involvement.....)
