Absurd. You have to take a leap of faith on any investment in a public company. If you think you are getting a safer bet on SUNE...on TSLA.

Agreed, those companies are terrible. By the way, so was Sungevity. Though at least Musk is able to convince institutions to invest in his money losing schemes and doesn't have to rely on people who subscribe to penny stock promotion websites. For this reason, I am not betting against Musk at this time. Though you are correct, his whole house of cards is liable to collapse at any moment.

AAPL

AAPL has years of successful products, global brand recognition, a massive cash pile... etc. It's absolutely safer. Comparing the one of the largest and most successful companies in history to a failing microcap is... dubious at best. Though there is no guarantee of continued success, the chances of losing it all of infinitesimal compared to SUNW.

Timing was great for a while here- and then it wasn't just like all stocks.

Everything was great when people were investing in hopes and dreams (cell, roll-up) etc. Eventually these hopes and dreams must materialize, they didn't. The company has failed at every single thing they have done so far. Every time they manage to make money for a single quarter, the end up losing it and then some in the next.

but you won't be right indefinitely.

The chance of bankruptcy is well above zero.

Just stop trying to say this was all so crystal clear...it wasn't.

If you took the time to do DD that wasn't clouded by hopes and dreams, it really was. A guy who runs around with a bunch of scammers like Nelson does... it's a pretty safe bet to say that giving him your money won't end well.

Honestly, anybody who ever spent more than 10 minutes looking at the story of the solar cell, and believed it, shouldn't be investing in these kinds of companies. I'm not sure why some people believed it, because it was always ridiculously far-fetched. The cell story was always so separated from reality that I found the whole thing really sad considering how many good people believed it. It was derivative of an old idea, the main guy touting it had no science background (but did have a background being friends with scammers), the company spent around $1M total on R&D etc... If the idea was credible at all then it could have got VC funding instead of relying on penny stock newsletter subscribers.

Guess what- I traded it well-
