DVR service on cable requires a physical DVR device to record the events/shows/sports/movies. For instance, DishTV's DVR recordings are available for upto a month.

DVR service on a stream doesn't require a physical DVR device, It is also called Catchup. This Catchup service generally provides a week's recordings on the cloud for us to go watch the previous events/shows that we missed on live.

I see this Catchup one way or other on every streaming app.

IMO, VivaLiveTV needs to provide this Catchup (DVR) service to compete with other LiveTV streaming companies SlingTV, DirecTVNow, and others.

JF tried to provide this Catchup (DVR) service in June and failed. Check his twitter messages asking us to test DVR someyime in June.
Also, check this page on http://www.vivalivetv.com/live/show/only-live#filter/featured
It says:
This is the list of the Media Packs available on our website.. We have Two types of channels.
1. Live Linear - These are live programs created by the studio or channel owner.
2. CatchUP TV channels - These are previous episodes that have been organized and made available to you for FREE.
