going after the aesthetics market would seem to imply/require a head to head study vs. Botox at some point.

Surely you jest, Cininnatus.

ALAMEDA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BioTime, Inc. (NYSE MKT: BTX) today announced that it has received notice from the FDA’s Center for Devices and Radiologic Health that Premvia™ has been cleared for marketing as a Class II medical device. Premvia™ is the first FDA-cleared member of BioTime’s HyStem® family of hydrogels, which are designed to mimic the natural structures of the human body’s extracellular matrix. According to the FDA clearance, the product is indicated for the management of wounds including: partial thickness, full-thickness, tunneling wounds, pressure ulcers, venous ulcers, diabetic ulcers, chronic vascular ulcers, donor skin graft sites, post-Moh’s surgery, post-laser surgery, podiatric wounds, wound dehiscence, abrasions, lacerations, second degree burns, skin tears and draining wounds.

Say you need to dig a trench. Would you prefer a backhoe or a teaspoon?

That seems to me like the difference between Premvia and Botox.

So where has Premvia been these years since FDA gave its blessing. Where are the trenches and the blessings of science instead of people working on dreamy stuff?

I bet the dreadful do-little poison is a lot cheaper - another difference between a backhoe and a teaspoon.

Please, Cincinnatus, don't take umbrage at my extravagant verbiage but those who have lived long have seen wonders beyond reckoning. I sat on my father's couch with next door neighbors in a bygone time watching the moon landing. They had flown with the Wright Brothers in their aeroplane at a county fair.

I tried to get some feeling for the vast dimension in time they had traveled but they had always stayed fully modern I guess.

Kinda strange all in all. Their house with their collections from around the globe is a museum today.

What BTX and its spinoffs are doing is mindboggling even for me and I spent my life doing research on the cutting edge.

Most enchanting to me are the vaccines that cure cancer cells of their defects with telomerase so the suckers lose their immortality and die. smile

Does that make BTX a better investment than, say, a company making bank vaults that we will need for all our loot if things pan out?

- Beats me.

All I am sure of is that it is high risk but what a shot of adrenaline.

Best, Terry
