Phyhealth Signs Agreement to Provide Electronic Personal Health Records for Phyhealth Plan Members and Physhield Insured Physician Patients

MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 19, 2006--Physicians Healthcare Management Group, Inc. (Pink Sheets:PHYH - News) announced today that it has entered into a licensing and distribution agreement with My Medical CD, Ltd (Pink Sheets:MYMC - News) for My Medical CD's innovative Personal Health Record technology. Phyhealth plans to provide My Medical CD to its Phyhealth Plan members in the form of a member ID card, and in addition, make My Medical CD available to Phyhealth's physician partners and their patients. The specific terms of the agreement were not released, but Phyhealth will have access to My Medical CD at discounted pricing and will have its own private label version of the CDs.

The PHR (Personal Health Record) movement is beginning to take solid root according to Donald Mon, a vice president at the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), as reported recently in the Houston Chronicle. The AHIMA provides a public service website http://www.myphr.com that provides consumer information on the choices available, including My Medical CD. PHRs are differentiated from the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) initiatives now being sponsored by the federal government, major provider organizations and insurers. EMR information is generated and maintained by providers, and any single patient's record can be complete only to the extent that all providers treating a patient are running compatible systems. Experts estimate that the seamless capture, maintenance and exchange of all healthcare information envisioned by the Administration and Congress may take up to a decade to fully implement.
